그의 단색은 백색이다.
한 걸음 다가서면, 그 백색에서 표정이 나타난다. 한 걸음 더 다가서면 질감과 균열도 드러난다.
그런 그의 그림에는 표정이 있는 것이다. 표정은 평면이면서도 입체이며, 그 입체에서 공간이 느껴진다.

공간에는 규칙적이면서도 불규칙적인 주름이 있으며,
건조하면서도 촉촉한 느낌이 살아 있다.
그의 그림은 살아 있는 나무처럼 시간의 축척과 그의 말처럼 핏줄과 심장 박동이 두근거린다.
단색은 정적이다.
움직이지 않아야 할 그 단조로움이 그에게는 살아 있다.
